Senior Class Information
Senior in Good Standing Policy
The following school policy represents the practice of the Tamalpais Union High School District and Archie Williams High School. Designed to support student accountability and success, the policy holds second-semester seniors to continued academic, attendance, and behavioral expectations consistent with District standards. Participation in the graduation ceremony and other senior activities is voluntary and considered a privilege. Under this policy, a student may qualify to earn a graduation diploma yet still be restricted from participation in the graduation ceremony and other senior activities.
Eligibility to participate in the graduation ceremony, prom, and other senior activities includes meeting all of the following expectations:
Meeting District and State Graduation Requirements
Seniors must meet all Tamalpais Union High School District graduation requirements. Students must pass all courses in which they are enrolled.
-
Grades of “F” or Incomplete in any course may prevent a student from participating in the graduation ceremony and senior activities. An “F” in a course required for graduation (for example, English) means the student will not earn a diploma in June and will not participate in the graduation ceremony.
-
Families should note that grades of “D” do not meet A–G requirements for college eligibility.
Attendance Expectations
Regular attendance is required to maintain Senior in Good Standing status.
-
Students who have five (5) or more unexcused absences in any single class, or five (5) or more unexcused full-day absences during second semester, will lose Senior in Good Standing status and may be restricted from participation in the graduation ceremony and other senior activities.
-
This attendance policy includes all scheduled classes, including Advisory and Tutorial periods.

Behavioral Expectations

-
Fighting
-
Harassment
-
Vandalism
-
Being under the influence at a school-sponsored event
-
Involvement in senior pranks
-
-
Disciplinary consequences will be determined in accordance with District policies.
Senior Checkout and Outstanding Obligations:

-
Returning all school materials (books, calculators, athletic uniforms, and other school-issued items)
-
Paying or resolving any outstanding fees or obligations
-
Completing the required Senior Checkout Form
