Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) BACR is a community based organization that partners with our school district to provide therapists at Drake who offer short-term counseling on an as-needed basis. The therapists help students deal with issues such as depression, grief, relationship difficulties, drug and alcohol use, and body image. Students should see their counselor for information and referral.
Peer Resource
Peer Resource students participate in a regularly scheduled class here at Archie Williams High School. They receive training in the area of student support and conflict mediation. If you would like to meet with a peer for conflict mediation or to discuss personal issues, please see your counselor for referral.
Archie Williams Support Groups
Counseling groups at AWHS are run based on student need. Examples of groups which have run in the past are: 9th grade girls or boys group, grief group, smoking cessation group, and sobriety group.
Many students can benefit from these helpful support services. If you would like to join a group, please see your counselor for information and referral. All information shared is subject to rules of confidentiality. If you want information on resources for support with depression, drug use/abuse, or other issues, please see your counselor. |
