Letters of Recommendation
Letters of Recommendation
Counselors meet with senior students (at their request) to work on college applications, personal statements, and letters of recommendation during the fall of their senior year. Any student wanting a letter of recommendation must meet with her/his counselor, complete an information overview and, most importantly, allow four weeks (not including holidays) for the counselor to complete the letter.
It is not appropriate to request a letter of recommendation from your counselor or teacher the week prior to the holiday vacation. We want to write a letter which allows your student's best qualities to shine; we need adequate time to do so.
To request a letter of recommendation from your counselor you need to do the following:
1. Complete the Letter of Recommendation Form
2. Meet with your counselor in-person to review the packet four weeks prior to the application deadline. If your Counselor is Sheila Souder, your Letter of Recommendation form is due on or before October 1.
Teacher Letters of Rec are quite different than the counselor letters, and should focus more on your time in their class. Some may want to use this form for their letters.
