Exam Accommodations

Overview

Some students with a current IEP, 504 Plan, or General Education plan may qualify for accommodations on AP exams (for example: extended time, extra breaks, or a separate room).

Important: Accommodations are not automatic. Even if you use them in class at AWHS, you must be approved by the College Board’s Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) program to use them on AP exams.

How to Apply

To request accommodations for AP exams, families need to apply directly through the College Board’s SSD program.

  • The school and district cannot submit requests for you.
  • Processing Time: The review process can take up to 7 weeks, so submitting well before the deadline is strongly recommended. [1]
  • Late Requests: Requests made less than two weeks before test day risk not being approved in time, meaning the student may have to test without accommodations. [1, 2]
  • Step-by-step instructions, required forms, and documentation information are available on the district website.

Deadline for May 2027 AP Exams: Friday, January 22, 2027
